Let me introduce myself...

My name is Alicia Hexham, the founder of the Healing Loft and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN), who struggled with chronic health conditions such as sudden and uncontrollable weight fluctuations, debilitating stress and anxiety, chronic adrenal fatigue and brain fog, frequent colds and long-lasting bronchial infections, as well as poor digestion, constipation, and bloating.  Despite my efforts to find answers, I was given conflicting advice from different medical practitioners, prescriptions that either didn’t work or created more health issues from their side effects, or I was simply told there was "nothing wrong" (which really meant they could not confirm a textbook diagnosis).  I went years feeling less and less in control of my body, and desperately tried to take back control with strict diets, exhausting exercise programs, and numerous medications and supplements.  I was also punishing myself with constant negative talk when I gave into cravings, or when I was unable to keep up with exercise programs due to post-exercise fatigue that would last for days, pain from reoccurring injuries, or the inability to get out of bed in the mornings or function 100% at work.  I would label myself as “lazy”, “unmotivated”, or “weak” – none of which was true.  Once I was faced with more serious medical issues -  such as infertility, an autoimmune disease diagnoses of Hashimotos, and chronic pain in my feet that caused limping and immobility for 3 years -  I realized that it was up to me, and only me, to find out how to get back in control of my body and make it whole again.  I took up non-stop research of holistic health and wellness, which led me to improving my symptoms through eating whole foods and taking natural supplements, as well as using Reiki to address the mind-body connection to my chronic conditions.  After 3 years, I was able to finally eliminate my fibroids, have a successful pregnancy, lower my autoimmune antibodies, and fully eliminate my chronic foot pain and can walk without a limp!


Once I started to gain back control over my body and energy levels, I started helping loved ones with their own health challenges, since I was able to relate to their frustration around chronic symptoms and their confusion around conflicting medical advice and diet plans.  As a result, I found myself committed to doing the research and discovering holistic health plans that met their personal goals and lifestyle, rather than a "one-size-fits-all" approach that didn't address their body imbalances and related symptoms.  After growing my small circle of followers to a larger referral base, I made the decision to end my 10 year career in Strategic Human Resources and return to school to obtain my Registered Holistic Nutrition degree through the accredited Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, as well as obtain my Reiki II certification through a Reiki Master program.  My previous work in Strategic Human Resources focused on creating transformational programs for corporations and individual employees, which were successful due to the fact they concentrated on the individual strengths and potential obstacles, while also providing measurable and achievable target levels to keep them accountable and victorious throughout their change-process.  I use the same individualistic approach when working one-on-one with my clients, which is why they see positive health changes in as little as one month after working with me. 

I created the Healing Loft as a calming, nurturing, and empowering place for my clients to come and visit in person, so they can recharge and find the health answers they are looking for.  The Healing Loft is also a virtual place where clients can receive support and guidance through one-on-one video conferencing or in group chats through our social media and Health Program groups.  The beauty about the Healing Loft and working with me is that I work to meet your individual needs – near or far!
